Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul is having conversations with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) about being the next pace bowling coach for the team. Gul comes with a vast amount of coaching experience from having coached Pakistan as well as Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). BCB is currently on the lookout for a new bowling coach to replace Andre Adams, who has a two-year contract till February 2026.
A senior board official confirmed the news to Cricbuzz about Adams - who will be in charge for the upcoming two-match Test series against Zimbabwe - is unlikely to be a bowling coach till the end of his contract. It is to be noted the New Zealander is facing some issues within the team over his dismal performance. This has prompted the BCB to take swift action and look for other options.

"We are in talks, but nothing is confirmed yet," Gul told Cricbuzz on Monday. "The confirmation depends on mutual understanding and terms and conditions, and that is dependent on the board," he added.

Allan Donald, Ottis Gibson, & Shaun Tait possible candidates along with Umar Gul
While BCB has not zeroed in on Gul as the successor to Adams, it is understood that they are keen on having him onboard. Apart from the former Pakistan pacer, BCB is also looking for other options like Ottis Gibson, Allan Donald, and Shaun Tait. While Donald and Gibson have previously been pace bowling coaches for the Bangladesh team, Tait coached Pakistan previously.
