Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson have been honoured as the India-England Tests will now be called the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. The 5-match Test series is set to begin on June 20 at Headingly.
Previously known as the Pataudi Trophy, named after India’s legendary captain Ali Khan Pataudi, the name was dropped a few months ago. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had announced plans to rename the iconic series between India and England.

India’s upcoming tour of England for the 5-Test series marks a new era in red-ball cricket. Both teams will now compete for the newly renamed Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, in recognition of two legends of the format from their respective countries.
Test Cricket Greats!
Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time in Test cricket. He still holds the record for the most runs in the format, scoring 15,921 runs with 51 centuries. Against England in their own backyard, he has amassed over 1,700 runs.
On the other hand, James Anderson England’s greatest red-ball bowler has taken 704 Test wickets, the most by any pacer in the history of the format. He’s led England’s pace attack for nearly two decades, making this tribute a fitting honour for his unmatched longevity and skill.
Tendulkar and Anderson also had one of the most memorable individual match-ups in Test history. The two faced off 15 times, with Anderson dismissing Tendulkar 9 times the most by any bowler against the Indian legend.
