Dhruv Jural has spoken about Rishabh Pant and the learnings he received from him ahead of the fifth Test at The Oval. Jurel will replace injured Pant, who is now ruled out of the fifth Test.
Pant injured his right toe while batting and did not play any further part in the Test match in Manchester. Jurel replaced him behind the stumps much like what he did in the Lord’s Test as well, with Pant injuring his right index finger.
The Rajasthan Royals keeper has been doing the hard yards away from the limelight and his chance has finally come. He will all but surely take the field at the Oval.
Dhruv Jurel On Learnings From Rishabh Pant
Ahead of the fifth Test at the Oval, Dhruv Jurel spoke with BCCI and looked back on Rishabh Pant’s injury and his words of advice ahead of the final Test.
“First of all, what happened with Rishabh bhaiya was very unfortunate. When I went in to keep the wickets… it’s always a dream to play at Lord’s. I used to think about playing at Lord’s since childhood, so I was just feeling the moment. The experience of playing there was great, Jurel said in a video shared by BCCI on Thursday.
He further spoke about his learnings from Rishabh Pant with respect to his keeping skills. He spoke about what Pant told him about his stance as a keeper and his feet movements.
“Rishabh bhaiya is a senior player, he told me on which line I can take the stance and about the feet movement and that is something I have been working on off the field with (T) Dilip sir (fielding coach)," he said.

“To overcome challenges when you go overseas is always a special thing. If you perform overseas, people will rate you high so I am very excited, just want to go out and express myself. “I am very excited to play because this match is very crucial for all of us. I am very excited to do that one thing which helps the team win," Jurel said.
