The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) began their IPL 2025 campaign on a fine note. They registered a win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening game. A huge credit for RCB's win goes to Virat Kohli, who slammed an unbeaten knock of 59 runs. His valiant knock ensured RCB secured a 7-wicket win over KKR.
Ahead of the mega CSK vs RCB clash, Dinesh Karthik has praised Virat Kohli. The RCB mentor is amazed as Kohli continues to strive for perfection even at this stage of his career. Karthik added that even after a grueling training session, Kohli was determined to perfect one more shot ahead of the clash against Chennai Super Kings.

Dinesh Karthik puts his trust on Virat Kohli
“I spoke to him just now as I came out and he said that he wanted to work on one more shot. At this point of time, to work on one more shot tells you the hunger he has. He wants to just improve and keep raising the bar. He’s a special player. The way I see it, he’s batting as confidently and as well as he has ever done in IPL,” Dinesh Karthik said at the pre-match talk.
Ahead of the Southern Derby, the attention will obviously be on Virat Kohli. Karthik vouched for Kohli, claiming that the star batter is not worried and will face no difficulties in tackling the spinners.
“Kohli scored some serious runs in the recent Champions Trophy. He has batted well against spinners in the recent past, especially in white-ball cricket. He was the second-highest run-getter in Dubai and that doesn’t come without playing spin. I believe right now he’s batting as well as he has ever done,” Dinesh Karthik concluded.
