Kevein Pietersen DC news

Delhi Capitals (DC) have received a massive setback as mentor Kevin Pietersen has left the squad for a short break. DC, who have started the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season with a bang by winning three games on the bounce, are the only team to remain unbeaten in the T20 tournament so far. Pietersen, who joined the new-look DC coaching staff ahead of the season, has played a vital role in injecting energy and positive vibes in the dressing room.

Often the former England captain has been spotted with DC players, giving them pep talks and encouraging them to play a fearless brand of cricket. However, Pietersen is not there for a few days. According to a TOI report, he flew to the Maldives on Sunday for a short break. The DC mentor is set to join the squad ahead of DC's next match against MI on April 13.

Kevin Pietersen to miss DC's clash against RCB

For the unversed, the former England captain will miss DC's next clash against RCB on Thursday, April 10. Pietersen is known for his love for exploring various places, and with a five-day break between DC's last match against CSK and the next one against RCB, the mentor thought it was the best time to unwind.

Notably, Peitersen's presence as DC mentor has resulted in getting the best out of quite a few relatively new players like Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam. Also, the Englishman has helped in calming the nerves of the explosive DC opening batter, Jake Fraser-McGurk.
