Delhi Capitals (DC) are taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. After losing their respective previous games, both teams are looking to get back to winning ways.
The Capitals got off to a rollicking start as Abishek Porel scored 23 runs off Tushar Desphande's first over. This was after the Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Jake Fraser McGurk (9 runs off 6 balls) and Abishek Porel (40 runs off 27 balls) opened the batting for the Capitals. Once again, the young right-hander was out cheaply. He tried to play across the line and skied one up, which was safely pouched by Yashasvi Jaiswal. The openers added 33 runs in the first two overs after Porel smacked 23 off Desphande's first over.

Karun Nair Falls For A Duck Against Rajasthan Royals
However, the tide then turned for the Royals. First, they dismissed McGurk cheaply, and then they managed to take the big wicket of Karun Nair for a duck. Nair, who scored 89 runs off 40 balls against Mumbai Indians, was run out after a mix-up with Porel.
Wanindu Hasaranga fielded the ball inside the circle and threw the ball at the non-striker's end. Nair was late to get back to the crease as Sandeep Sharma removed the balls. Thus it was an anticlimactic end to Nair's innings after much was expected of him.
Rajasthan Royals are unchanged heading into this contest. Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma and Tushar Deshpande have bowled two overs each. The Sri Lankan spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have bowled once each. It was in Sandeep's first over that the Royals got the lucky break of Nair.
Since Nair's dismissal, KL Rahul (27 runs off 24 balls) and Porel have added 30 runs together. Rahul has been the glue in the DC batting lineup, and the other batters have played around him. Porel is the enforcer of the two in this partnership that is starting to bring DC back on track. After 10 overs, DC finished on 76 runs for two wickets, with Porel and Rahul adding 42 runs off 41 balls together.
