Sooryavanshi-Jaiswal added 144 in 10 overs

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored his maiden fifty off just 17 balls as he gave Rajasthan Royals (RR) an electrifying start in a chase of 210 runs against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on Monday.

Chasing 210 to win, Sooryavanshi (51 runs in 19 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (45 runs in 26 balls) got off to a rollicking start as they scored 87 runs inside the powerplay. Jaiswal got a life when he was on two as Jos Buttler dropped him off the bowling of Ishant Sharma (36 runs off 2 overs).

Vaibhav took a liking to Ishant Sharma ( 26 runs in 2 overs). He hit him for three sixes in his second over to get a move on. In the next over against Washington Sundar, he became the youngest ever to score a half-century in the IPL at just 14 years. It was also the fastest fifty in IPL 2025 and the fastest against GT.

In a must-win game such as this, this was the perfect start given by the two youngsters. Jaiswal, the senior partner in this partnership, was happy to play the second fiddle and watch a few big shots from the little boy.

The GT bowlers failed to counter the onslaught from Jaiswal and Vaibhav. The duo put up the 100-run stand in the eighth over. All three GT pacers went for runs. Prasidh Krishna (23 runs in 2 overs), Md Siraj (24 runs in 2 overs), Washington Sundar (21 runs in 1 over). Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued his onslaught and by the end of the 10 overs reached 144 after 10 overs as he took 30 off Karim Janat's first over.

Earlier in the game, Gujarat Titans posted a mammoth score of 209 runs for 4 wickets in their 20 overs. Shubman Gill (84 runs off 50 balls) set up the platform and Jos Buttler (50 * runs off 26 balls) finished the innings with his brilliant strokeplay. Sai Sudharshan (39 runs off 30 balls) added 93 runs for the first wicket with Gill playing his part in laying the platform as well.

Maheesh Theekshana (35 runs for 2 wickets) looked the best of the lot for the Royals. Jofra Archer (49 runs for 1 wicket) and Sandeep Sharma (33 runs for 1 wicket) were the only bowlers to pick up the wickets for the Royals.

This is a must-win game for the Rajasthan Royals. They will be eliminated from the season if they lose this game against the Gujarat Titans.
