Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudarshan (63) played anchor role to perfection as they finished on a solid score of 196 for the loss of eight wickets against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the match nine of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Sudarshan held one end up and allowed the rest of the hitters like Jos Buttler (39), & Shahrukah Khan to tee off from ball one.
MI failed to pick wickets at regular intervals in the middle phase of the innings. Their spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman, was a touch too expensive, which allowed Butter to power his way through in the middle phase of the innings. It is to be noted that Gill (38) and Sudarshan put on 66 for the first wicket. The duo laid a perfect base for Buttler to attack from word go. The former England captain attacked and made sure GT's start did not go to waste. However, Sudarshan did not score that much, and that might come back to haunt GT if MI wins the game.

For MI, skipper Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowler as he picked up two wickets giving away just 29 runs. The right-arm pacer mixed his variations well and managed to bowl good line and length.
GT fails to finish strongly against a disciplined MI attack
It would not be wrong to say that MI were much more disciplined with the ball in hand and restricted GT by not bowling too many loose balls. At one stage it looked like GT would score 220, but MI managed to pull things back. However, Sudarshan, who was quiet in the middle phase of the innings accelerated in the end but could not break free as he was out for (63) runs.
MI's death over experiment with Satyanarayana Raju failed massively as he leaked 40 runs in three overs. However, Boult, and Deepak Chahar bowled well and helped MI restrict GT to a score below 200.
