New Zealand will tour India in early 2026 ahead of the T20 World Cup for a 3-ODI and 5-T20I series. Guwahati, Jaipur, and Hyderabad are among the venues shortlisted for the tour.
BCCI Finalizes Venues, Confirms New Zealand White-Ball Tour
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the New Zealand Cricket Board held an online meeting on June 9th to confirm the white-ball tour. This tour will be added to the packed home schedule alongside a West Indies series and a South Africa series. As of now, this tour will not feature any Test matches, with the main focus on preparation for the T20 World Cup.

The shortlisted venues for the 8-match series are Jaipur, Mohali, Indore, Rajkot, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, and Nagpur. These venues are tentative and may change over time, according to reports. The itinerary for the series will be confirmed on Saturday through an online meeting, after which the BCCI may announce the dates. Currently, the tentative window is January 13 – January 30, 2026, with the series expected to start and end within these dates.
India’s Busy Home Schedule Kicks Off with West Indies Tests
India’s packed home schedule will begin with 2 Tests against West Indies in Ahmedabad and New Delhi, followed by a full series against South Africa, which includes 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 4 T20Is across multiple venues from November to December.
Meanwhile, India’s only overseas tour left this year is the tour of Australia for a three-ODI and five-match T20I white-ball series, scheduled from October 19 to November 8, ahead of the South Africa series.
Currently, India is touring England, and India A has successfully completed their 2-match Test series against England Lions, with the results drawn. Now, India’s main team is facing India A in a closed-door match at Kent Cricket Club in Beckenham. The first Test between India and England will begin on June 20 at Headingly.
