Mike Hesson has been appointed as the new white-ball coach of the Pakistan men's cricket team, marking the sixth new coach since 2023, following figures like Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Hesson has taken on this role, filling the vacancy that arose after the team's recent tour of New Zealand. Previously, Hesson was the head coach of Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), leading them to a title victory last year. He also has prior experience coaching international teams such as New Zealand and Kenya.

In an official statement, the PCB noted that Hesson was selected after a thorough evaluation of numerous applications received since the vacancy was created following the April tour to New Zealand.
Hesson’s First Series vs Bangladesh Postponed
Mike Hesson’s first assignment will be to lead the team against Bangladesh in a five-match T20I series. However, this series has been postponed, and the new dates are currently under discussion. Initially, the first T20I was scheduled to take place in Faisalabad on May 25, with the PSL 2025 finals set to commence on that date. Both cricket boards are negotiating a date change, and a revised schedule is expected to be announced soon.
