The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025) have been moved to the UAE after cross-border firing started between India and Pakistan on May 8, 2025.
Tensions escalated across the border between the two countries in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack that saw 26 innocent lives being lost on April 22, 2025.
The Indian Army then responded with Operation Sindoor, a successful operation that destroyed several hideouts of Pakistani militant groups. It was followed by a war-like situation with cross-border firing, forcing the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals to be called off.

Overseas Players Have Already Started Traveling To The UAE
Now, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi, after a meeting, has asked the remainder of the PSL 2025 season to be shifted to the UAE. The match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, to be played on Thursday, was rescheduled.
Reports in ESPN Cricinfo further say that the overseas players playing in the league have already started travelling to the UAE. It is expected that the next match will be played after a period of time, as the PCB needs to sort out the venues for the remaining games. The original PSL 2025 schedule would have seen four of the remaining games in Rawalpindi, one in Multan, and the final three in Lahore. However, now with the tournament moving to the UAE, the logistical issues need to be sorted out before the league resumes.
The UAE has always been a venue that Pakistan has resorted to in times of need in the past. It was their home venue for more than a decade when teams denied visiting the country due to security concerns.
PCB Chief's Statement On Remainder Of PSL 2025
Meanwhile, the PCB gave an official statement about the tournament being shifted to the UAE amid the growing tensions between the two countries.
“As a responsible organisation that has overcome adversities repeatedly and ensured that the game of cricket flourishes, it was important for us to ensure the mental well-being of all players participating in the HBL PSL.Â
"I regret that our domestic audience and cricket lovers will not be able to watch these matches in Pakistan's stadiums," PCB Chief Mohsin Khan said.
“Like in the past, we hope that our stakeholders will rally with us to further the best interests of the tournament, our players and the fans. We are committed to ensuring that the league continues to thrive," he further added.
Bangladesh will be playing a bilateral series against Pakistan on May 18. However, the PCB confirmed to ESPN Cricinfo that nothing official has been decided on the series yet.
