On Wednesday night, during the final session against Somerset, the Nottinghamshire captain handed the ball to Ishan Kishan to wrap up the day, as the match was heading toward a draw. In that over, Kishan imitated legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh’s action while bowling off-spin. He then switched things up, channeling his inner Shane Warne by bowling wrist spin. The over was entertaining, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, batting on 14,0 faced it with a smile.

The clip went viral on social media, and fans quickly connected it to Harbhajan Singh’s birthday, which was celebrated the very next day. Many saw Kishan’s action as a fun tribute to Bhajji.

The match ended in a draw, but Kishan stood out with a fine knock of 77, hitting 8 boundaries and 2 sixes. In his county debut last month against Yorkshire, he scored 87 off 98 balls but that match also ended in a draw. Kishan is yet to register his first win with the team.
