UP Warriorz (UPW) held their nerves as they beat Royal Challengers Benglaru (RCB) by 12 runs in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL). The match went right down to the wire, but RCB failed to close the run chase of 224. Nonetheless, the crowd at the Ekana Stadium witnessed a run fest, with both UPW and RCB scoring in excess of 200. UPW finally gave their home side something to cheer as they won their first home match at the Ekana Stadium.
RCB's chase began on a positive note, with opener Meghna teeing off in the power play. However, she could not carry along for a long, as she was dismissed for (27) runs. Ellyse Perry walked in at number three and tried to take the attack to the opposition, but she failed to carry on for long as the all-rounder perished (28).
At that moment, RCB's run chase looked like heading nowhere. However, Richa Ghosh had other intentions, as the wicket-keeper batter attacked from the word go, and scored a blistering 50.

RCB succumbed to a fifth loss, eliminated from WPL 2025
Ghosh's efforts were in vain as UPW secured a win in the last over. RCB's fifth loss has ended their playoff hopes as well. The defending champions' dreams have come crashing down due to mediocre performance from their bowlers. With Asha Shobana and Shreyanka Patil both ruled out due to injury, RCB's bowling attack looked weak, and lacked variation.
