The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium was a temporary cricket ground set up inside Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Long Island.
Built with modular stands and facilities, it was created specially for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The venue hosted eight group-stage games, including the high-profile India vs Pakistan clash. After the tournament, the temporary construction was taken down but the outfield was kept as part of the park’s legacy. The natural grass drop-in pitch was later replaced with artificial turf.
This was the first time in ICC World Cup history that a fully temporary venue was used. A challenge came in the form of a slow outfield and an uneven stadium pitch that made the ball behave unpredictably. Groundsmen worked between games to make the surface play better.
