Ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has give a huge warning to other teams against attempts to intimidate and sledge his teammates. The 28-year-old who took captaincy reins from MS Dhoni in IPL 2024, is set to lead CSK again IPL 2025 season.
Unlike Dhoni, who likes to keep calm on field and was not too bothered about sledging, Gaikwad seems a bit different as he has little tolerance levels when it comes to his teammates being sledged. This trait of the CSK opener was also evident during his captaincy stint for Maharashtra, as he has always stood up fore his teammates.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's big warning to other teams in IPL 2025
In a video that is going viral, the CSK captain has said that he OK if any of the rival teams sledges him, but he wont hold back when they try to intimidate his teammates during the match.
“If someone sledges me, I’m more than happy to not say anything. But, if I’m the captain and someone is sledding at my teammates, then I’m not someone who can hold back,” Gaikwad said.
MS Dhoni reassured Gaikwad he won't interfere in captaincy
Gaikwad also revealed that Dhoni had told him to make his own decisions on the field. The CSK skipper further added that Dhoni would only help if he feels the feild placements are not upto the mark. However, the Maharashtra batter revealed that even when he gives feild suggestions there is no compulsion to listen to him.
"But he assured me, ‘This is your team. You make your own decisions. I won’t interfere except when field placements are a 50-50 call. Even then, it’s not a compulsion to follow my advice. That trust meant a lot to me,” said Ruturaj.

CSK finished fifth on the points table in the IPL 2024 season and missed a playoff spot by a whisker. They will begin the IPL 2025 season by playing home matches against MI and RCB.
