The match between the two sides was a closely fought contest. RCB batting first scored 221 runs, and Mumbai Indians, courtesy of some good batting from Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma's efforts, fell short of the target. They lost the match by 12 runs in the end as they finished on 209 runs, losing nine wickets. Krunal Pandya defended 19 runs off his final over.
MI lost their fourth match of the season. Meanwhile, RCB, courtesy of this win, moved up to the third position on the IPL 2025 points table. It was a contrasting game for the two Indian veterans, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. While Kohli scored 67 runs off 42 balls, Rohit scored just 17 runs off nine balls. The Indian skipper had a good start to his innings but was cleaned up by a beauty from Yash Dayal.

Navjot Singh Sidhu On Irfan Pathan
Meanwhile, the news regarding Irfan Pathan being snubbed from the IPL commentary team is already public. Sidhu, during his commentary stint with the Hindi channel of Star Sports, spoke about missing Pathan by his side in the commentary box.
During the Hindi commentary, Sidhu was heard saying, "Irfan meri jaan hai bhai, kitna achha ladka hai, usey abhi bohot miss karta hu." Pathan saw the video and quickly came up with a response. "I miss you too, Paaji, lots of love & respect," he wrote on X in his heartfelt reply. Many have hailed the social media exchange as an example of the love and respect that still bind India's cricket community together.
The 40-year-old, who represented India in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs, and 24 T20Is, is still very much active about speaking on the game. After being banned from commentary by the BCCI in IPL 2025, Irfan Pathan launched his own YouTube channel by the name of "Seedhi Baat with Irfan Pathan". In just six days after its start, his YouTube channel amassed over 100,000 subscribers, and it currently has 279,000 subscribers.
