Mohammad Amir RCB

Mohammad Amir's favorite cricketer is Virat Kohli, and the left-arm pacer has not shied away from openly accepting this fact. The former Pakistani pacer's dream of playing alongside Kohli may fulfilled soon as he aims to play for RCB in the IPL 2026 season. Currently, Amir is residing in London and is trying to acquire a UK passport. The 32-year-old also revealed that his better half Najis's UK citizenship will soon be enough to pave his way to play in the World's richest T20 league.

“Next year tak meri opportunity ban rahi agar hua to kyu nahi (By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL, and if given the chance then why not). I will play in the IPL. I would like to play for RCB - RCB is my favorite IPL team," Amir said on Haarna Mana Hai's show.
"Virat is great and admires talent. Virat gifted me his bat, and I was overwhelmed by his action. I have always been a great admirer of his batting, and he is of my bowling. I played some good knocks with his bat."

Ahmed Shehzad backs Amir to play for RCB

Fellow guest on Haarna Mana Hai show Ahmed Shehzad has backed the former Pakistani pacer's inclusion in the RCB team in IPL 2026 season. Shehzad opines Amir is a gun bowler and his outright wickettaking abilities will help RCB win thier maiden title.

“RCB needs a bowler like Amir to fix their bowling woes. They have a strong batting unit, but their bowling has always been a problem. If Amir plays for RCB, they will win the title,” Shehzad asserted.

He first announced his retirement decision in 2020, only to reverse his decision for the T20 WC 2024 which was held in USA & Caribbean. PCB felt Amir's exposure in playing CPL would prove to be beneficial during the World Cup. Alas, it was not be as Pakistan crashed out in the group stage of the tournament.

Overall, Amir scalped 119 wickets in Tests and 81 wickets in ODIs. The left-arm pacer dismissed 71 batsmen in T20Is. He was part of the 2009 T20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy winning teams.
