Indian batter Ishan Kishan turned 27 on July 18. Though currently, he is out of the Indian team across formats, he is one of the most talented batters within the Indian cricket circle. Add to that his keeping skills, he becomes a key figure in the batting lineup across formats.
Kishan was born on July 18, 1998, in Jharkhand. He has played across formats for India and already holds a few records to his name. He made his domestic debut at the age of just 16 years in 2014 and made a mark with a hundred and five fifties in his first ten first-class matches.
His big break came when he was picked up for Mumbai Indias in IPL 2018. He was a key figure of their success till IPL 2024. He was an integral part of the side and he got into the side on the back of his performances for India A and Jharkhand. He was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Kishan was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad and he scored an unbeaten century in his very first game for the franchise. His unbeaten 106 runs off just 47 deliveries helped SRH post 286 runs for six wickets against Rajasthan Royals and win the game in the end.

210 vs Bangladesh, Chattogram, 2022
Kishan is just one of the five Indian batters to have scored a double-century in ODI cricket. His best ODI score of 210* runs off 131 balls came against Bangladesh in Chattogram in 2022. India posted a score of 409 runs for 8 wickets on the back of Kishan’s double-century. He added a 290-run stand with Virat Kohli in the match. Kohli also scored a century, but Kishan’s ton overpowered Kohli’s by a long way. In the end, India won the match by 227 runs, with Bangladesh getting bowled out for just 227 runs. Shikhar Dhawan, in a recent podcast, said that he knew his ODI career was over after Kishan’s knock against Bangladesh.
93 vs South Africa, Ranchi, 2022
The southpaw played a crucial innings of 93 runs off 84 balls in the second ODI against South Africa in Ranchi in 2022. Batting first, South Africa posted a challenging score of 278 runs for seven wickets. Kishan walked in to bat at number three and paced his innings beautifully. He added 161 runs with Shreysa Iyer, who scored a century in that game. In the end, India won the match by seven wickets and almost four overs to spare.

89 Vs Sri Lanka, Lucknow T20I 2022
Kishan has played 32 T20Is so far in his career and has scored six fifties in the format. His best in the format came against Sri Lanka when he opened the batting with Rohit Sharma. He hit 10 fours and three sixes in his 56-ball knock and helped India post 199 runs for two wickets in Lucknow. India won the match by 62 runs in the end. Ishan Kishan has a liking against the Sri Lankan team in particular. He also scored his fastest fifty on his ODI debut against the same opposition in 2021 off just 33 balls.
