Things took an ugly turn when Maharashtra opener Prithvi Shaw and Mumbai all-rounder Musheer Khan engaged in a heated argument, with the former almost hitting the junior player in a warm-up fixture ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season, which will be played in two halves.

Shaw oozed class for his new state, Maharashtra, by scoring a century against his former team, Mumbai, in the Ranji warm-up game on Tuesday, October 07. The right-hand batter reached his hundred off just 140 balls and shared a massive 305-run opening stand with all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni. The former Mumbai player scored 181, but before that, drama unfolded with Musheer and his ex-teammates.

"It's a practice match. They are all former teammates. Such things happen. It's all okay now, and there is no issue," said Ankit Bhawne, the skipper of the Maharashtra side.

Having recently switched from Mumbai to Maharashtra, Shaw has already shown positive intent with the new side by scoring 111 against Chhattisgarh in the Buchi Babu event. The youngster would be hoping to continue with the same intensity and help Maharashtra win the Ranji Trophy this season.
