Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to host the players for dinner at his home on Wednesday ahead of the side's second Test against West Indies at New Delhi's Arun Jaitely Stadium, which will start on Friday, October 10. Sources claim that the southpaw wants the dinner to be an open-air one in the garden area. However, the rain threat looms large in the capital city, which might jeopardize the coach's plans.
India won the first Test by an innings & 140 runs and currently leads the series 1-0, with Ravindra Jadeja (104* & four wickets) earning him a player of the match award. Speaking about the game, the Windies were bundled out for just 162 despite opting to bat first. Later, the Indian batters, led by centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Jadeja, helped the team post a huge first innings score of 448/5 declared.

In the first innings, the hosts gained a massive first innings lead of 286 runs, and it was too good for the visitors, who were shot down for just 146 runs in their second innings. Indian spin twins Jadeja (4/54) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) did the most damage.

India aims to extend their dominance against hapless West Indies
The Shubman Gill-led side will look to continue with the same momentum and intensity and aim to whitewash the visitors 2-0. This series is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle 2025-27. India are currently sitting third on the points table, with 55.56 PCT. They have played six Tests, winning three, losing two, and drawing one Test. On the other hand, the West Indies are yet to open their account, as they have lost their last four Tests in the current WTC Cycle.
