Harleen Deol unbeaten (70) played a scintallating knock for Gujarat Giants (GG) against Delhi Capitals (DC) and enabled a five-wicket win over in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL). The all-rounder mixed caution wih aggression, and did not allow any of the DC bowlers to settle. Her blazing 50 was the cornerstone for GG pulling of a 178 run target.
GG got off to an inauspicious start as Hemalatha departed for just (4) runs. That wicket brought Harleen to the crease, and she, along with Beth Mooney ensured GG did not lose further wickets in the power play. Harleen managed to find boundaries in the power play and kept the scoreboard ticking. The Harleen-Mooney duo added 85 runs for the second wicket, which laid the foundation for the chase of 178 run target.

After the departure of Mooney (44), skipper Gardner walked and played a brisk cameo. However, she was not there to finish off the chase. Dottin played a brisk cameo and gave the chase the much-needed impetus.
For DC, Shikha Pandey was the pick of the bowler, as she chipped in with two wickets.
Clinical GG moves second on the points table
On account of this thumping win, GG move second on the points table. Another win and they will seal their maiden playoff berth. DC remain first on the points table with 10 points.
